private diary: February 3
I visit the MUSEUM OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, recently opened in Milan in Palazzo dell'Arengario. There are also some of Picasso and Futurism (Balla, Boccioni), carved the canvases of Fontana and the "Artist's Shit" in Pietro Manzoni. That at least ends up in the box and not on the canvas.
It saves only De Chirico, in particular, a prodigal son, with two characters: one is composed geometric shapes (like the great metaphysical), the other is a uniform mono block in civilian clothing. It 's the middle class who returns to her father's house, full of repentance?
The museum building is well done, with a spiral staircase that has, throughout its development, the fourth state of giant Pellizza From Volpedo, in splendid isolation.
The building offers dall'ultmo floor, a splendid view of the cathedral which alone is worth the visit. It can be admired without being down, looking the other side and placed on the side opposite side of the gallery, perceiving his good books.
